IMPORTANT FINAL NOTICE : For Pelican Email Users
The Pelican email system is being retired on Monday, November 30th. Over the past several months, all verified active Pelican accounts have been migrated to the new Webmail System. Inactive or accounts with an unknown status have not been migrated and this account falls into that category.
One of the primary reasons an account may fall into an unknown status is that it may be currently auto-forwarding messages to other email accounts and may have gone months or years without a user logging into Pelican. To the technicians migrating these accounts, it appears to be inactive and therefore was not migrated.
If you received a message that was addressed to [A PELICAN EMAIL ADDRESS]. If this is not the email account you are currently logged into then it was likely auto-forwarded from [A PELICAN EMAIL ADDRESS]. The following scenarios may account for you receiving such an auto-forwarded message:
- your Pelican account was configured to auto-forward to a non-CCNY email account
- you had more than one account or alias on the Pelican server and one of them is auto-forwarding to this account
- a shared departmental account was configured to auto-forward to this account
- a network device (e.g. scanner, printer, multifunction device, server, research equipment) was configured with an email account to send or forward emails to this account
To continue receiving emails from this account it is imperative that you email us at servicedesk@ccny.cuny.edu with the following information:

ARE YOU FORWARDING TO A NON-CCNY EMAIL?.
Our technicians will schedule a post migration check to ensure all existing emails are moved to the new system. If we don't hear from you, the account will no longer be accessible after the migration.
If the originating email account was auto-forwarding to multiple accounts, you may need to enter those accounts on the new Webmail system. If you are aware of other devices configured with Pelican email settings that have not been migrated you should report those to the service desk.
